1. Who We Are

JAX STUDIOS is an independent creative technology project based in the United Kingdom, operated by jbrad (JAX STUDIOS). We build AI-powered content, companion software, and live broadcast experiences.

For data protection purposes, JAX STUDIOS is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary:

• Email address — collected when you join our launch waitlist, with your explicit consent
• Usage data — anonymous visit counts stored in your own browser (localStorage). This never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us

We do not collect: names, addresses, payment details, cookies, IP addresses, or any tracking data. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party trackers.

3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

• Email address — collected on the basis of your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You ticked the box. You can withdraw that consent at any time
• Usage data — stored locally in your browser only. We never see it. No legal basis is required as it does not leave your device

4. How We Use Your Email

Your email address will only be used to:

• Notify you when JAX STUDIOS officially launches
• Send you a one-time welcome message when the service goes live

We will never: sell your email, share it with third parties, add you to marketing lists, or contact you for any purpose beyond what you signed up for.

5. How Long We Keep It

We will hold your email address until the JAX STUDIOS launch notification has been sent, or for a maximum of 24 months from the date you submitted it — whichever comes first. After that, it is permanently deleted.

You can ask us to delete it at any time before then (see Section 7).

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Currently, waitlist emails are held securely by JAX STUDIOS and not processed through any third-party platform. When we integrate a mailing service (such as Mailchimp or similar), this policy will be updated to name that processor and confirm they are GDPR-compliant.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold on you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Withdraw consent — remove yourself from the waitlist at any time
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Complain — contact the ICO at ico.org.uk if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully

8. Cookies & Local Storage

This website does not set cookies.

We use your browser's localStorage to store an anonymous visit counter and conversation count. This data is stored entirely on your device, is never sent to us, contains no personal information, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data. It is used solely to display the site's activity counters.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted their email to our waitlist, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. We will not retroactively change the basis on which we hold existing data without notifying you first.
